My Paloma Neighbors

I completed this zine in March (i think) of this year – and had been meaning to work on it for a while. A little zine honoring feathery neighbors next door.

Process This was my first all-digital one in some time, fiddling around in procreate and adobe express. I kept it digital because the starting point was my phone (and on occassions DSLR) photos 🙂

It was kinda funny working on it, because even though i had set up the order of the photos and the “title” for each page/set of pages, i hadn’t quite decided what i wanted the mood to be. It started off a little somber because eventually the pigeons were gone, but i decided to make it a bit more hopeful/just about honoring them and presence

ps. this was also the first time in my life i learned the word for these birds is “pigeons” and not “pidgeons” … as an ESL speaker and having spoken english for longer than i have my first lang, this language remains a complete enigma
