#9: Restart 2026

Hola mundo!
For those of you new to my website, bienvenidx! I’ve had this space for a while but it wasn’t feeling quite right. I hesitated to share it in general cause this engaging online thing has been a real puzzle for me, but i’m learning to be chill with that semi-uncertain state and still show up. so this is the concrete outcome of that!

My main motivation behind putting work into a personal website is to enge less with, and hopefully assign less value to, instagram. I made an e-zine about how much it sucks and especially for artists a few years ago (which you can find here) and even though i have paused sharing art through posts, it’s still a platform i use regularly to stay up to date and in touch with other ppl. I’m planning to resume posting my work there but in a more strategic way.

Regardless, and as niche or irrelevant a thing it might seem to the average person, i wanna give the personal site a try for real. And i hope i can inspire others to do the same. In that spirit, I plan for this blog here —which i’ve renamed as ā€œPintalucha Lettersā€ (paint+in the struggle letters)— to be the main spot where i share art life and (some) artivism updates. You can sign up to receive email updates whenever i post on the sidebar to the right or below if you’re on your phone! It’s going to take some work as i’m not used to updating long-form, but we’ll see

Future visions: connecting with other artists who also want to shift away from instagram and the many ways that can look like, especially for people who are based locally

Some Updates

Site-related šŸŖ² If you want to read more about the theme updates, you can read the change log. I’ve also had a neocities site ā€“ for some time, which i use for more outside-the-box code art things, tho right now its pretty bare šŸ˜…

Upcoming Markets šŸ’«šŸ„I will be vending at Depaul Zine fest! on Jan 31st

Art Rant

It’s been hard to create consistently in direct response to all the wild ass sh* t thats been happening lately. I used to feel guilty about this before, but there’s always many artists responding too – and tbh i’d rather highlight the work of artists who are directly impacted, making art from their experience, than make something out of feeling social-media-pressured to respond.

That being said, i still want to challenge myself to make response art with current events as it feels fit for my capacity 😤

Art Share

I recently made these for a market šŸ™‚

I also started a series of linocut stamps with designs that have personal significance. This is the first one

If you’re here from instagram or whever else i shared this site, thanks for visiting !
Till next time
