Linocut Print Adventures

Categories

I had been wanting to get into linocut carving + printing, and even though a seed was planted when i visted a local Print festival led by latinx artists in Chicago where I’m based, i did not do my first print until i was inspired by all the movement for Palestine

It all started with this one❤️‍🔥🇵🇸🇵🇸

Linocut print on paper of an olive tree, tree trunk in black ink with texture, and tree leaves in solid green with text "Viva Viva Palestina" in all caps

I was excited to be able to make something i could make several copies of relatively easily, and yet because of human error no one print is a duplicate from the previous one. I love that i have an idea of what it will look like and it won’t actually always turn out the way I expect.

i started shifting to other imagery i wanted to try, mainly symbology that’s been surrounding me for the past 4-5 months
